Buhari seals deal on stable power supply

President Muhammadu Buhari has signed an agreement of $11 that is N2.17bn with the Japanese government for an emergency improvement in the electrical facilities of the country. The Japanese International Co-operation Agency will be working alongside with the Minstry of Power to improve the electrical supply across the country. The agreement will reduce the amount of power outages in the country and is expected stabilize power supply to approximately 7,000 households in the Federal Capital Territory. Mr Udo Udoma who is the Minister of Budget and National planning signed the deal on behalf of the president with the Ambassador of Japan Sadanobu Kusaoke. Udo Udoma said:
The Federal Government remains committed to working closely with various stakeholders in the economy to achieve sustainable economic development. The ministry will ensure that we create an enabling environment required for sustainabilty of this partnership.
Japanese envoy replied by saying power sector is a key to improve the quality of life for people and also to promote industry and also pledged his country's readiness to deliver.
